Anthurium scherzerianum is a tropical epiphytic plant native to Costa Rican rainforests, growing naturally on trees. It reaches 30–45 cm (12–18 in) tall with glossy, lance-shaped leaves approximately 20 cm (8 in) long. Its most distinctive feature is the vibrant orange-red curly spadix (flower spike) surrounded by a modified leaf called a spathe. This compact growth habit and showy floral display have made it a popular ornamental houseplant.
